Music Within provides professional, client-centred, and strengths-based speech pathology and music therapy services. Additionally, we provide piano lessons that encompass a holistic approach to learning. The foundation of Music Within is based on the premise that everyone despite age or (dis)ability are able to find their music within and communicate through music.
Music Within ensures that services include a multifaceted approach where individuals can learn, connect and have fun whilst also using creativity to enhance confidence and provide inspiration.

Robyn is the founder of Music Within. She is a Registered Music Therapist, Speech Language Pathologist and piano teacher. Robyn has completed, a Bachelor of Health Sciences (USyd), Masters of Speech Language Pathology (USyd) and a Masters of Creative Music Therapy with distinction (WSU). Robyn was awarded the Dean's Merit list in 2019 at WSU. Robyn also successfully completed training in Neurologic Music Therapy with the Academic of Neurologic Music Therapy in 2021.
Robyn has a passion for combining communication and music therapy approaches within sessions. She believes that everyone is able to find their 'music within' and be able to communicate through music. She tailors each session for each individual and ensures that there are clear goals in place. She is easy-going, fun, patient and friendly; She believes it is important to have a positive supportive relationship to ensure the best outcomes are achieved. Robyn's main instruments include piano, guitar, and voice.
As a Speech Pathologist, Robyn has extensive experience and skills in working with an array of client populations. Robyn has worked in government disability and non-government organisation providing speech, language, AAC, and Auditory Verbal Therapy for children with hearing loss. Robyn has excellent communication skills, and understands that each person has a different learning and communication style. She is able to build rapport with students quickly to ensure the student continues to be motivated in their musical journey.
Robyn is also a certified Key Word Sign instructor, where she regularly runs Key Word Sign workshops and a variety of professional development presentations. She is also employed by Western Sydney University as a casual academic for the School of Medicine.
Robyn has almost 15 years experience as a piano teacher where she provides lessons to children and adults from beginners to advanced levels. Many of Robyn's student's consistently partake in AMEB examinations with exceptional results. Students range from beginners to advanced. She combines technical, performance, theory, aural, reading, and creativity/composition skills within a holistic approach in her lessons.

Soomin is a Registered Music Therapist who completed a Bachelor of Music in Flute at the University of New South Wales and a Masters of Creative Music Therapy at Western Sydney University. Soomin has also successfully completed training in Neurologic Music Therapy with the Academic of Neurologic Music Therapy in 2022. Soomin can play a range of instruments including flute, piano, guitar and voice.
Soomin has experience in various clinical settings including disability and aged care facilities, mainstream and special education settings, and mental health hospital unit. Soomin uses a person-centred approach, setting goals to match individual client needs. Within music therapy, Soomin has a team-oriented mindset. In other words, Soomin works together with each client as a team to ensure engagement, strive towards their goals and build positive relationships.
Soomin aims to bring creativity, musicality and enjoyment to support engagement, personal and skill development and strengthening confidence. Soomin enjoys working with other allied health professions in a multidisciplinary setting. Particularly, she is enthusiastic about collaborating with speech therapy, where her interest in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) system comes from. She has an interest and passion in using AAC systems (including Key Word Signs) within music therapy sessions to support communication development and overall quality of life. Soomin believes everyone has the right to express themselves in methods that are most suited for them.
Soomin is fluent in English and Korean and is happy to deliver sessions in either language.
Music Within is located in the heart of Crows Nest on the main street of Willoughby Road. The studio is fully equipped with a grand piano, digital piano, sound system, and a large range of musical instruments.
There is paid street parking available and free 2 hour parking in the adjacent Woolworths carpark.
